Hardscaping & natural stone.
Natural stone and interlock patios, walkways and steps in Innisfil & Simcoe County. Proper base prep that stays level for decades. Since 2004.
Big D builds patios, walkways, steps and natural-stone features across Innisfil and Simcoe County. The difference is underneath: proper excavation and base prep so the surface drains and stays level through the freeze-thaw. Each project is quoted on-site.
Hardscaping is where a yard goes from "nice" to "usable." A well-built patio or walkway is the bones of the whole landscape — and it only lasts if the work you can't see is done right.

What we build
What's included
- Natural stone and interlock patios
- Walkways and garden paths
- Steps and grade transitions
- Stone seating and accent features
- Edge restraints and polymeric jointing
- Drainage that moves water away from the home
Why base prep matters
Most failed patios fail at the base, not the surface. We excavate to the right depth, build and compact a proper aggregate base, and finish the joints so the stone holds its line — no heaving, no sinking, no weeds taking over after a year.
Common questions
Interlock or natural stone — which is better?
Both have their place. Interlock is versatile and cost-effective; natural stone is premium and distinctive. We'll walk you through the trade-offs for your space.
Will the patio heave in winter?
Not when the base is built correctly. Proper depth, compaction and drainage are exactly what we focus on to handle the Ontario freeze-thaw.
Can you match an existing patio or wall?
In most cases, yes — we'll source materials to blend with what's already there.
